My Herb Garden

This was my first year planting a herb garden. This is a great herb song to listen to while reading this post!

I bought seeds and planted them indoors in the early spring.

Then when it was the right time, I planted the biggest ones in my herb garden.

But three days of hot sun weakened them, and then there was a lot of rain on a week end, so they mostly all died.

I had nearly given up hope of even having a herb garden after all, when my mom came to me one day after looking at the disheveled garden. She said, "Hey Avril, now that it is the end of June, why don't we go to a garden centre and you can buy plants that are already big. You started the hard way on your first year, starting from seed." So we did. Below are the herbs that I currently have in my resurrected herb garden.

Basil

My one surviving parsley (I had originally planted about ten plants!).

I have no clue what this is! But I know I planted it from my first seeds.

Rosemary. I don't prefer the taste of rosemary, but I like how they look.

I tried to make them look like a row of pine trees.

Sage

I love mint and I want a lot of dried mint for tea in the winter, so I bought five plants. Two are spearmint, one is chocolate mint (it smells amazing!), one is peppermint and one is an apple mint.

This is curry. My mother was so excited when she found that she could buy curry!

Some thyme, oregano, and other stuff that we couldn't figure out what it was.

Complete!

Thanks for all your help mother!
