Our Family Camping Trip

These are pictures from a camping trip that we were on with my mom's side of the family.

Day number one: we arrived after lunch.

The huge dilemma of how to unwrap a sleeping mattress.

The usual biking commute.

We played keep up with the uncles...

... with the punishment of push ups for missing the ball.

Each evening was spent around the fire, telling stories.

Day number two:

Breakfast

The uncles setting up tarps, in case there was rain.

The younger children went to the park on bikes...

... while the teens came on foot.

The kids played on the play structure.

And we chatted around the picnic table.

Then we played Grounders.

Lunch.

Us teens biked to town to get ice cream.

We had reason to sit around the fire in the middle of the afternoon.

The usual method to keep off the smoke.

We experimented with a plastic cup to see whether water would boil in plastic.

It really was too cold to swim, but the younger children braved it anyway.

Day number three:

Breakfast on the last morning.

Teaching some German.

The last meal was fun - we pulled out all the left overs and just scrounged.
