Reflecting Back on 2020

For the last few years I have written a bit in my journal about the past year. These include highlights and accomplishments, or simply what the year consisted of.
This year I was looking back at my journal entry from last New Year's and realised and remembered that my highlights from 2019 were not very satisfactory. Sure there was camp, our annual homeschool Field Day, our trip to California, etc. but all of those were only temporary; they did not give me much lasting value to remember them by.
But this year, on the other hand, I obviously did not have many big, regular social events to write about, but my mind instantly went to the little things: they are more fulfilling and meaningful. A few of the little joys from 2020 include:
Odd jobs around the farm

Sewing

Gardening

Lots of reading

This spring I read The Lord of the Rings in twenty-seven days. I am glad my brother got a picture of it, because I spent many hours in that chair!
Going on walks

A day hiking in Whiteshell Provincial Park with friends this spring.
A lot more school time
Finishing our main floor

There was a time when we could not walk across our main floor because of sanding or staining.

Assembling cupboards for the kitchen
More family time

This was in our sunroom while we were getting our floor done.

Someone said this was an alligator video, but none of us remember.

Learning to bake bread
Starting this blog

Attempting to get a good picture in the rain!
Getting more creative with decorating for fall

Learning to write in cursive and change my letter writing style

And more time to reflect on what God wants for my life...
Of course a lot more happened this last year than I posted pictures of!
